Provided by YP.comWOW! My daughters are grown but if you're seeking exceptional, top notch, safe, educational, & fun child care which incorporates child development into the program headed and run by an incredible team of teachers and staff, please, check out the Women's Community Y in Leavenworth, Kansas. As a working mother many years ago - I chose to send my girls to the WCY. The time they spent there proved very valuable - both of my girls went on to obtain degrees from KU - one is a Center Director in Johnson County. I'm not saying my girls went on to become successful young adults due to the time they spent at the Women's Community Y all those years ago but I do believe the Y can claim a small portion of that success. The WCY - teachers and staff - reinforced the values & education my children were receiving at home & school. You can send your child to a daycare (private or commercial) - it's your choice - it might be cheaper, but in the child care arena, folks, I believe you get what you pay for. My choice to send my daughters to the Women's Community Y - which provides so much more than basic, safe daycare - was a choice I have never regretted. Yes, it was more expensive - but it was money I consider to be very well spent. I'm fairly certain there are ways to manage the cost - there might be in-house financial assistance (as in a sliding scale) and/or governmental programs that assist as well. I believe the Y will do everything it can to make their services affordable for everyone. My children have great memories of the time they spent at the Women's Community Y - that should be testimony enough. The teachers, the staff, everyone there truly cared about the children and it showed. Choose the Women's Community Y and watch your children flourish in this safe, educational, fun and wonderful environment where caring, instructive and delightful teachers and staff care for and about your child. I am glad I did it - and so are my girls.

Provided by YP.comMy daughter attended 2 years of preschool at the Women's Community Y and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleased to watch her grow & learn under the care of the teachers and staff. They are truly fantastic and care about your child. They also have an excellent summer program that we participated in for 2 years as well, the kids go swimming, go to the local parks, and also walk to see movies downtown! I recommend this program to everyone who asks where to send their child to preschool.

Provided by YP.comMy neighbor's children have attended the Y for several years. They are two of the best behaved children I've ever seen. The skills they have learned at the Y will make sure they do well in school and in life. I would recommend the Y to anyone, this place is the best in child care and early childhood learning.

Provided by YP.comI looked everywhere for a preschool and this place looked great on paper and the initial visit was great but it is awful. NOT a nurturing environment that all children deserve. They treated me, the parent, like I didn’t know what I was talking about and patronized me constantly. My child has a delay and they discriminated against him, not letting him participate in field trips with the other children. DO NOT trust them.

Provided by YP.comI was very disappointed with the center and consequently I pulled my son out of the center after only 4 months. On several occasions my son had to sit by himself for lunch (with his back turned to the other children) and no he was not in trouble. I also felt dismissed by the teachers when I asked for their help with development skills for my son. A family member also pulled her son from the center due to the horrible treatment he received by the teachers (he was excluded by the teachers and made to feel like an outsider).

Provided by YP.comThe staff and programing are the best. My twins went to Preschool at the Y and they loved it. They grew leaps and bounds the year that they were in Preschool at the Y and are now ready for kindergarten. The kids have gone to the Y on snow days and even my oldest child thinks it's a "cool' place to go. The staff does a great job engaging the school age children in activities that they enjoy and don't think it's learning when it really is. Thanks, Y!

Provided by YP.comMy child has been going to this daycare since she was 3 years old. They have excellent preschool program along with after school daycare. Their summer programs are one of the best. My daughter loves the employees and enjoys going there. I recommend them highly.

Provided by YP.comThe only place to take children for loving, qulatiy care. My children love the staff and the activities. My school ager has done so well in school and I know it is because of the great beginnings that he has recieved.
Neither of my children want to leave at night and it is never a struggle to get them to go in the morning.
Best summer program in town!
hanks Y
