All's I can say is I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My family has been going there for the last 20 yrs. and every time I tell someone about it they end up falling in love with it too. It's such a relaxing place with a beautiful hot tub and pool right on the river and everyone that works there are so friendly and take such good care of it, it might be an older hotel but it's absolutely charming! I can't wait to go back!

My wife and I have been to this off the road, and on the river for many years. Jimmy is very accommodating and the price has not changed like many others.

Agreed, it's not the Waldorf, but the covered deck that faces the river is fantastic and very soothing to the ears. If you want to sit on the river, just do it. More than your money's worth.

The Rivers Edge Lodge is not the Hilton. It's better. If you want to relax and enjoy the river it's perfect! In the summer the pool is warm and quiet. In the winter the hot tub is wonderful, looking over the river. The owner/manager is very friendly as is the staff. My husband and I call it old people camping. Leavenworth is fun for shopping and eating, but when your done it's nice to come back to a very clean comfortable place.

rivers edge motel

Not what I expected for 200 a night. The staff was very nice but this is all the positive I can say. As my husband said, you can only polish a terd so much and its still a terd. To start, we walked into a very horrific smelly room. I lighted a candle to try and mask it. The carpets had so many stains I never once walked on it without shoes. The coffee pot had moldy coffee in it. The pillows were so stained you see it through the pillow cases. The sheets had long brown curly hair all over them. We slept with our clothes on with towels over the pillows. In the morning I asked my husband if id be safe showering. I pictuered norman bates comming in. Low and behold, the bath towel were stained. I turned the shower on to see no water pressure. No kidding, a mist, that was all. It took over 5 minuted for this mist to turn somewhat warm. Did I mention the menstral blood on the comforter? This motel is right on the river. That was nice. I wish I could of made a cup of coffee, sat and relax to watch it. Like I said, the staff seemed like good people. They sould use the 200 a night they are getting and by new linens, towels and carpet cleaning. Also give people a little more water to bath in. Then maybe a remodel.

Great place to stay!

My family and I were delighted with this hotel! Our stay started with the discovery that "Dark Side of The Moon" was displayed, as a piano score, on the upright piano- and the hotelier gave us a fantastic performance of "Gig in the Sky", including the muttery bits, in a Cockney accent.Jimmy, the manager, is running a heckuva great hotel- the wireless Internet connection is perfect, the rooms are clean, the pool is spotless (if it wasn't, my kids would NOT have been swimming, twice a day, every day!), and the amenities are beyond what is described on their website. We had a room on the second floor, overlooking the river- all of the rooms overlook the river!- and my kids were enthralled with watching the ducks, every morning, as they played in the water. There are BBQ's available, on the first-floor walkway, by the river's beach, and the grounds are beautiful. It's a wonderful place to stay. A side note: my kids are two of the noisiest, bounciest kids on the planet- but even they tired of the constant noise and motion of Leavenworth. They both BEGGED us to take them "back to the HOTEL!!" every day that we were up there- and the River's Edge was the only place that they WOULD calm down, relax, and generally wind down, in the area.

Jimmy's a great host, and this is a great place to base your trip from, if you're looking to enjoy Leavenworth, Cashmere, and the surrounding area, but not have to deal with the touristy garbage of Leavenworth itself. We booked ahead of time, and were given a fantastically affordable rate, for three nights!

A tip: if you love great coffee, this hotel has 12 cup coffee makers in the rooms, and they take basket-style filters- the local Safeway, which is all of 3 minutes down Highway 2, carries a good variety of coffees, but no basket filters, other than the reusable kind. The local water makes great coffee!!
