Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue was established in 1995 and opened its first dining outlet in 1996. In addition, Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue maintains an online store that offers a range of sweatshirts, T-shirts, caps, barbecue rubs, and gift cards, baskets and boxes. The restaurant maintains its location in Kansas City and Olathe, Kan. Its Kansas City location is situated inside a gas station.

Food is always the best. Long lines move quickly. Highly recommend the Carolina Pulled Pork, and the fries.

This establishment is a classic "herd and serve" format with emphasis not on the food but "fast service".The brisket had little or no smoke ring, sliced paper thin with 3/8 inch of fat. It was expertly arranged on top of a large piece of bread to imply you were getting a larger serving than materialized. The sausage was average, again not much smoke flavor. The beans were not good at all. To top it off it all was served cold. I can go to McDonalds and get cold food all day.Then there is the carnival atmosphere complete with multiple televisions and loud rock music in the background to distract you from what you came there for. Good barbecue. Barbecue connoisseur's will be disappointed by this establishment
