Please don't waste your time with this company. They are nothing but shady and deceitful con-artist. They mark up prices and act like they are giving you a deal when you sign up. They do not inform you that you have to come into the gym to cancel. They said a one year contract but do not tell you it keeps going. Then you are charged and they want another payment just to cancel your membership. The gym is never repaired. Equipment is down for months, the air conditioner doesn't work. They locked their wifi connection so we cannot use it. They charge us annual fees for maintenance but it does not seem like it goes towards upgrading and maintaining the gym. When you have a problem with your account, the manager is very rude and does not care about your situation even if your card was stolen. They are only there to make money, they do not give two craps about their members. They also create lies just to tack on fees to your account. You give them new credit card information and the manager or staff does not write down the number correctly or change it in the computer. Then when your payment comes up, it does not come out and they charge you fees anyways and the manager makes it seem like it is your fault for him not doing his job. Their drinks and tanning lotions are marked up way too high. You can find tanning lotion online for 15-25 dollars. The same exact product is at their gym for 40-60 bucks. How about their gloves and straps? You can find the same pair for 8 dollars but at their club its 25. Can you say insane? The whole them telling you you need to buy lotion there is for their sales and their sales only. The lotions do not hurt their tanning beds, they just want you to buy their products.

Also it is a damn shame when you go to the gym and you overhear the manager of the gym arguing with customers and putting them down for their appearance! This place lacks professionalism. This guy shouldn't be putting people down when he doesn't look like he has used a piece of equipment in his entire life!

Mike Briseno, the manager of New York Fitness, told me "I don't run my gym on principles," when I cancelled my FOUR unused memberships after paying for an entire year. He charged me for an additional month and I am disputing this charge. I acted in good faith paying for 1 year, however, he did not return the favor, and charged my account $40 again the month after I quit. He lied to me by saying only the billing company could make that determination (they can't) and accused me of yelling at him on the phone when in reality he just didn't like what he was hearing--the TRUTH. Please pass the word along that NY Fitness in Elizabethtown, Palmyra and Lebanon do not run on principles-like honest business practices or good customer service. There are many bad reviews on YELP! this site and the Better Business Bureau websites that are warranted although some have been unrecommended. Read them and TAKE HEED!!!!
