You're hitting out of deep rough or high crabgrass, or off stubble from someone else's divots unless you want to tee up or hit off what look like worn out mats in the covered area. No one seems to be discarding cut balls, either. If you want to hit off fairway-quality turf, it's worth driving up to Cedar Creek Sports Center near Mt. Juliet, where the prices aren't much higher per practice-quality range ball.
