Contrary to popular belief, this is an old Burger Boy, not Hi Boy. The food is really good and the staff is very friendly. It's also very affordable as you can buy one meal and share it with another person. I think people are being a little stuck up judging by the building. It's old, but it's clean.

The food is delicious, The prices are great for the amount of food you get and be careful how much you order if you aren't a big eater you WILL have leftovers. I love getting the crab ragoon and the egg rolls. My kids and I share them along with the fried rice. Shanghai Boy IS a part of Lee's Summit's history. Yes it has only been on third street for less than 15 years BUT they have been in lee's summit for a lot longer. They have wonderful, friendly staff and I don't think they need to change the decor just because it serves mainly chinese food verse the regular burger food. It is still a wonderful place to eat or just pick something up on the way home.

I have tried this place with friends that like it twice and I think it is awful! There ingredients are like the lowest quality possible and its not very clean either. I guess I am just used to Master Wok that uses quality ingredients. And I think its funny that someone said they have been a part of LS's history for "decades". I am barely 2 decades old and I remember it being a yummy Hi-Boy restaurant less than 10 years ago.

This place looks like a hole in the wall but the food is great....must look the way it does b/c their prices are awesome. Its soooooo much better than China Dragon J. The staff is great too.

Only thing is they are closed on Sundays

I have been going to Shanghai Boy almost weekly for over 5 years. Besides being very reasonable in price there variety of menu items, quality and taste are the best in KC. It's not a typcial Chinese establishment because they also offer American cuisine such as hamburgers, chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches, etc, which are also outstanding. I hope Lee's Summit and the surrounding towns continue to support Shanghai Boy, especially since it is located in a Lee's Summit restaraunt location that has been an important part of Lee's Summit's history for decades.

Co-worker recommended. It was great, friendly staff, very clean.
