Underwood Elementary School, established in 1991, serves more than 620 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school is governed by the Lee s Summit School District, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. It provides special, gifted and computer education programs. The school s staff includes guidance counselors, paraprofessionals, reading specialists, and occupational, physical and speech therapists. Underwood Elementary School offers a range of extracurricular activities, such as band, strings, music, art and physical education classes. Regular HoursThrough Float for Hope, students may attend classes from 6 to 6:30 p.m. or 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays or from 9 to 9:45 a.m. or 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays. Depending on the session selected, students will be enrolled in a three- or four-week course.
