RUN AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS: They do NOT have a valid license in Virginia under any of the 3+ company names they work under (AEM, Inner Harbor Logistics, Loudoun County Contractors). Carmen Pretopapa, Nathan Hill, & Zack Hill lie, gaslight, threaten, and scam people out of their money. Carmen blamed his employees for all the mistakes - saying, "well, all these guys are Mexican...or er, ya know all those countries are like Mexico to me...and they don't have the same standards we do." WHAT?!

Hired AEM to build 10x11 portico/porch & install 2 patios in July '22. They took $18,400 from us. After numerous excuses & delays about vacations & illnesses, work began Jan '23. Porch failed inspection 4 times. They damaged our home roof, damaged house siding & caused immeasurable stress. When it became clear that the partially built structure was 100% UNSAFE: rafters not tied into the home correctly; foundation posts not level causing water intrusion into home & their "fix" was to simply add some shims between, structure allowed to sit uncovered for months during rainy season caused damage & mold growth; posts were never tied into home. The entire structure would move if you leaned on one post. The whole structure could have come down, ripping out our home roof with it!

We stopped all work, had another "problem resolution" meeting with county inspector where he advised Nate & Carmen exactly what needed to be done. NONE of the corrections were done.

Finally went to court. We won. however, when our attorney sent garnishment letters to the AEM's bank, we were informed the total amount in their account was only $2,000. What a surprise. They have been allowed to continually commit fraud, property damage, & steal from honest people in Loudoun & Clarke counties. Look at their reviews, look at the BBB where they have an F rating. Look at the state DPOR site at all the complaints...according to the state site their last known business license was REVOKED. See photos on Yelp.
