BUYERS BEWARE!



This is a highly un-ethical business that convinced my husband to spend his money unnecessarily, while under the impression that he was doing a nice thing for his wife. My husband surprised me with a quilting class from here. He told the salesperson that his wife was an accomplished seamstress, and had already taken some instruction in quilting, and was told to sign me up for a beginning quilting class, which also just happens to be their most expensive class offered. At the time of purchase, he was told that if it wasn't appropriate, we could exchange it or get a refund. It was not explained that it would also involve a larger commitment than just class time (which is all he was told). I have five children (one is an infant), I do not have time to do "homework"; it is hard enough to find someone willing to care for five children to attend the six classes. When asked about an exchange or refund, the owner will now not allow a refund or exchange for a more appropriate, less expensive, and more convenient course or towards a store purchase. I was just quoted their "72-hour cancellation policy". How could someone purchasing a gift for his wife as a surprise (which he explained when purchasing) possibly honor a 72-hour refund/exchange policy?



I was then told that I didn't "have" to do the homework. Telling me that I don't have to do the homework is not an appropriate response; that would not allow me to be able to follow along at the same pace as the rest of the class. Also, forcing someone attend a course that is far below their skill level, and therefore a further waste of their time, is also wrong. I offered to pay for the quilting kit and the one day of instruction that I already received (since I did attend the first class...I was dropped off by my husband...that was the surprise). That is only fair since both were used on the day I was dropped off.



At this point, I just want to forewarn any future potential customers on how this business is run. I wouldn't want anyone else to make the same innocent mistake as my husband, and be convinced to spend their money unnecessarily, while under the impression that they are doing a nice thing for their wife.
