MUD is terrible!!! AND almost impossible to get ahold of over the phone! I moved to Lenoir City a couple of months ago and had to get the water meter switched in my name. I called more than a dozen times and could never get an answer. I needed the change over made as soon as possible since I had already signed my lease. I finally got in touch after three days trying and I was told it would cost $175.00 to get the water in my name. I was speechless that it would cost this much just to take a meter out of one name and put in another. The lady explained that there was a $100.00 deposit, which wasn't bad, BUT there was also a $75.00 SERVICE FEE! I am a single mom and to come up with this amount just to get my name on a meter is rape! She stated that this makes up for the loss of funds when people move and leave no forwarding address. If I had known this I would have moved to a different location! I will get the $100 back when I move out but I will not be moving where MUD has service!
