Keep your receipt. I purchased...

Keep your receipt. I purchased a hummingbird feeder at the price of 9.99 along with a large feed liquid and some other items totaling around 60.00. I am/was a frequent shopper at tractor supply, because I like(d) the store. I took my feeder out to fill it with the liquid and it began shooting out the top/bottom, having unnoticed it in the beginning I wasted all but a 1/4 of the liquid. I purchased the feeder in mid-March anticipating the hummingbird arrivals at the end of April and beginning of May. Of course, I had taken the feeder out of the bag with the other items I purchased and set it up so that it would not be broken etc.., not realizing I really did not need to be concerned so much as it was already 'chipped' in the top/bottom where it could not be noticed readily. I returned to the store at 12:00 or noonish, only to find a policy of 30 day return and/or receipt? I showed them their product only to see the manager shake his head in a no manner, the clerk wanted to return the bag containing the feeder to me, and I stated, "No, you keep it, I cannot use it" then I went to the back to the feeder section and saw one on the shelf, the same feeder only it appeared to have no holes. I had also anticipated purchasing another one for the backyard as I liked the design and more of the liquid feed, but did I or will I? No. This, unfortunately, for me and the fam, will be the last visit to a tractor supply company, they lost a good paying, often customer, for $9.99, I did not argue, did not throw the tantrum, did not get frustrated nor argue, I did however, become disappointed. If I have to check every item before I 'need' the item to make sure it works before the season of the 'need', and must hold on to every receipt from every purchase, and of all the stores I frequent and keep a file box of the store, and the purchase receipt, then I don't need that store in my file box, and before you state, 'But, that is the policy", then I ask, 'Do you actually do that to all the stores you visit or are you a liar?" It is their policy, it is their store, they can do as they please, they can 'sell' bad merchandise if they choose, it is their store, but, for $9.99 is it worth not replacing the item and keeping a good customer, they say yes, they do not need me as a custormer, I will now honor their request of actions rendered, good luck to you and yours. Keep your receipt. The loser - the Hummingbirds, who must wait until I go purchase another feeder and check it twice, keep the receipt, and hope China is building them better, or that a clerk has not dropped it and put it back on the shelf. Am I stating you should not buy from them, absolutely not, do as you wish, but for me, this was my last visit, just like I will not travel through cities that put up the redlight cameras in shopping districts trying to suck more money from the shoppers. Like that of Oak Ridge, TN, and Farragut Tn. But you do as you wish, it is after all, for now, a free country.
