Established in 1973, Bluestem High School provides academic and social education to students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers various athletic activities, such as wrestling, basketball, golf, tennis, softball, football, volleyball, and track and field. The school s core curriculum includes English, physical education, science, social studies and math. Its elective subjects include art and humanities, journalism, accounting, business and technology education, and family and consumer science. Bluestem High School operates a counseling department that offers information on scholarship opportunities, graduation requirements and career planning. Its extracurricular activities include the National Honor Society, Scholastic Bowl, student council meetings and plays. It is a part of Bluestem USD 205 and is located in Leon, Kan.
