The West Early Childhood Center serves more than 500 children in prekindergarten and kindergarten. Its programs serve more than 200 children and are funded and directed through the Southern Platte County Athletic Association Head Start. The prekindergarten program serves children in more than 14 classrooms, including one preschool program for children with disabilities and one English as a second language classroom. In addition, the West Early Childhood Center has a faculty of teachers, principal, assistant principal, counselor, art teacher, physical education teacher, library aide, two secretaries, an office aide and more than 20 teaching assistants. Located in Levelland, Texas, the West Early Childhood Center is owned and operated by the Levelland Independent School District.
