Provided by YPmobileMy daughter is beginning her 13th year of dancing at NorthPointe Dance Academy. 13 years at the same studio.... What keeps us at NorthPointe? The AMAZING staff sharing all their knowledge of dance so your child learns the proper technique while developing a love for dance. NorthPointe has a very family and friendly environment and they are more than happy to assist you with any questions you may have. They are very professional and want to make your experience the best it can be. The genuine love and caring from the owners, teachers, assistants, and office staff put into each and every child and their family from the recital student to the preprofessional is endless! NorthPointe has a genuine appreciation for everyone single person who walks through their door and it shows in the special costumer appreciation days they have and the many little events they hold through out the year. Northpointe is not just about building great dancers though, it is important for them to give back to the community and those in need. They have held many fundraising events with the students involvement emphasizing the importance of helping those less
fortunate.
NorthPointe is simply the best at what they do. They have exposed my child to many different choreographers, styles of dance, and opportunities to grow and a person and a dancer. My daughter hopes to go to a performing arts college in a couple years and with the training NorthPointe gives her, Im sure her dreams will come true!!!

Provided by YPmobileMy daughter attended Northpointe Dance Academy for 13 years from 5 years of age. If not for Northpointe she wouldn't be dancing at a prestigious performing arts university on scholarship. If not for NDA she wouldn't be pursuing her dream and living her passion. If not for NDA she wouldn't be a leader and fearless in all that she does. If it weren't for NDA she wouldn't be the caring, compassionate, confident, loving human being that she has become. If not for NDA she wouldnt be striving for excellence in every area of her life. From the time she walked into the doors of Northpointe Dance Academy she was surrounded by people who cared about her. She was never made to feel like just a number, but as part of a family. She was nurtured not only in dance but in being the best person that she could be. If not for Northpointe my daughter would not be the extraordinary dancer that she is today, but more importantly she would not be the light in this dark world because NDA not only trains beautiful dancers, they help develop beautiful human beings and for that I am forever grateful.

Provided by YP.comMy daughter attended NorthPointe Dance Academy for nine years. She went there at the age of nine with a dream to dance at The Juilliard School in New York City, and left at age 18 to attend the school of her dreams. She could have never done it without the love, help, knowledge and support from a dance studio she calls home. NorthPointe Dance Academy was more than just a building to go to for dance...it literally became a second home for my daughter where she could learn about dance and about life in a caring, loving, nurturing, safe, fun environment. The teachers and owners are the people she writes about in college essays and papers on why they are her mentors, her heroes, her role models, her inspiration and her best friends. They have created an atmosphere where hard work, dedication, trust, warmth, and love are found in every room at every level and every age. It is such a pleasure to walk into the building and look into the rooms to see the happy faces of SO MANY little ones as they create, play, share, learn and execute the fundamentals of dance while laughing giggling, spinning, singing, dancing, prancing and always smiling!!! The older classes are at times more focused and serious, but you can feel the bond between the teachers and students as they share their passion for dancing. This dance studio was able to introduce my daughter to famous choreographers, dancers, other dance teachers and studios around the country that helped to further her dance education. They discussed, researched, watched others, and took every action possible to assure that each dancer was getting exactly what they needed for their individual growth.
Not every dancer is bound for Juilliard, New York City or a career in dance, but every little girl and boy would benefit from the talented and loving teachers and staff at NorthPointe Dance Academy. I would think that every parent would feel so lucky to have their child learn and grow in such a warm and loving environment. I am thankful to NorthPointe everyday!!!

Provided by YPmobileI am a self-admitted "helicopter parent," and NorthPointe has been a saving grace for both myself and my daughter. The staff is incredibly kind and patient with me, yet by gently encouraging me to step back and trust them with my daughter's growth I have watched my daughter blossom into a strong spirit, whereas she would barely let me leave her alone in the classroom two years ago. Not only has she developed technique and skill, but also friendships, confidence and passion about the art of dance! My daughter also has true connections with her teachers, so even when frustrated by the challenges of something new she wants to go right back to class the following week. The front desk staff always greets us by name which makes us feel like family; even the fellow parents are friendly and welcoming. Two things I like about NorthPointe:
1)that they can meet your child where he or she is, and take them as far as he or she would like to go, from just-for-fun-and-exercise all the way to Juilliard (a recent past student is now studying there under scholarship!). And 2) it's not just about DANCE-- it's also about building character and confidence, developing the person as a whole. So even if my child doesn't want to go to Juilliard, she is still developing skills that are essential in so many other areas of her life.
There was an earlier negative reviewer on here mentioning her daughter having an issue with a class she tried out, and I am so glad she contacted the studio owner about her concerns. The reviewer mentioned that the owner said the instructor was in tears over the parent's complaint, and that is an excellent example of how seriously NorthPointe takes their standards. That the owner herself called the parent speaks volumes alone, that the teacher was so upset about the misunderstanding, and that the studio offered multiple solutions to this parent-- you can see the level of service NorthPointe provides, even when the parent has an alternate viewpoint of an experience. It seems to me that very few businesses operate this way these days, so for me, it's encouraging to hear that these concerns were addressed so appropriately.

Provided by YP.comIt only takes one bad experience to discourage a child forever. I am so upset with the treatment of my daughter that I feel guilty for taking her to NorthPoint Dance Academy without doing more research.
She was assigned to a particular class level by two different NorthPoint staff members –one when I called in to learn about the facility and one when she came in to try a class. She attended a trial class and was made to feel totally inadequate by the instructor, Tiffany, and other classmates.
I introduced my daughter to Tiffany when coming into the class and shared her experience level. I looked into the class 4-5 times to see my daughter off by herself but attempting moves. I wondered if Tiffany, as the instructor, was interacting with her. I did not see the instructor near her at any point. I did not go into the class because I felt it was important for my daughter to work through being new. She is a very strong child and has a lot of experience in new situations without encountering issues.
After the class my daughter came out and was ready to burst into tears, asking to "just go home." I asked if the instructor had even talked to her and she said “no.” When we got outside she burst into tears saying she “felt so stupid.”
1) Other girls were whispering when she tried moves alone and Tiffany noticed but didn't say anything to my daughter OR the other students.
2) The instructor didn't approach her AT ANY POINT.
I called the office on our drive home, and the staff was polite and offered to have the Owner return a call. The Owner called about an hour later and said that this has never happened before and that the instructor was in tears over the matter. She also said that my daughter was not at the right skill level and the instructors should not force a relationship with a new student.
I am in the teaching field myself and when one of the adults in my class struggles, regardless of level of expertise or the difficulty of the subject matter, I reach out to TEACH and attempt to engage the student. This can be a learning experience for all. Any instructor working with children should be encouraged to do the same. This may have never happened before at NorthPoint, but it happened to my daughter.
The instruction and management response were both VERY inappropriate for a facility that teaches children.

Provided by YPmobileNDA is by far the best dance school you will find in Central Ohio. From recreational dance to competitive dance to aspiring to be professional dancers, you won't find better instruction, dedication, love and community. We took classes from three other dance schools before this and I was also a dancer for 18+years. It's worth the drive if you aren't in the Lewis Center area and is super easy to get to.

Provided by YP.comMy daughter moved from another studio to North Pointe a few years ago. She made friends easily and we are both so greatful that she has the opportunity to dance there! The instruction is the best around, whether your child wants to dance for fun or perhaps to do competition. The competition kids get incredible opportunities. But whether or not a child does competition there, the North Pointe teachers and owners make every single child a priority! They recognize and care about every single child. It is one of the most caring and professional businesses I've had contact with ever. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for their child to have a positive experience with dance!

Provided by YP.comI was a dancer myself and wanted my daughters to experience the joy that I did as a child. We have experienced a couple of other studios which failed to meet my daughters needs. I can truly say it is worth every mile we travel from Pickerington to Lewis Center. We saw improvement in one week and my daughter made friends after 1 day! It has a family-like atmosphere and the facility is topnotch. It is like no other studio we have seen. One room is the actual size of a broadway stage! The studio even has a study area for kids to study during their breaks. The children are the main focus and making sure that their needs are met is their top priority.
