One of the unfortunate truths about having an animal is the realization that they have much shorter life spans than we do, and as so age more quickly. However, through regular checkups and preventative care, we are often able to recognize serious health issues while they are still in the early stage. Taking action early may be instrumental in making sure that your pets continue feeling their best! Wellness, the goal here is to prevent illness whenever possible. There are great rewards in making sure that your pet has a thorough yearly physical and is kept up to date on immunizations. Vaccines can prevent diseases that can be potentially fatal or at least, very expensive to treat. Spaying and neutering your pets, routine dentistry, control of fleas and ticks as well as heartworm prevention will all help result in a longer and healthier life for your treasured pet. Diagnostic and treatment, if your pet should get sick, our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic services such as x-ray and ultrasound. We have an in-house lab when immediate blood work results are needed, and access to several outstanding outside labs for quick results and consultations with specialists. Our goal is to get your pet back on the path to health as soon as we can! Surgery, we offer a full range of surgical solutions, from routine surgeries to more advanced surgeries such as orthopedic fixations like pinning and plating of fractures, exploratory surgery and cruciate ligament repair. Anesthesia is always a concern for pet owners, as it many times holds the biggest risk for even routine procedures. A fully trained and licensed veterinary technician using modern monitoring equipment constantly monitors all of our surgical patients. Alternative medicine Dr. Charlotte Tutu has been certified with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association for animal chiropractic services since 2001. She also completed a course in veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute in 2005. In many instances, she has had success using these alternative methods for pain control.

I went to Ford - Debbie is very rude and the place is so dirty! My kitten actually picked up flea's in that dirty place! They charged me 72.00 for an exam and over the phone that quoted me 55.00 and would not give me my money back!

Unhelpful & Rude

I recently found a lost spaniel dog that had been bitten in a fight. I called this office so that they could treat the animal. The person in the office told me that since I was not the owner, they did not want to treat it unless I would be "responsible". I told them that I would pay for treatment of the bite, but they said the vet would have to determine if anything else were required and I would have to pay for that also. If I was the owner, I wouldn't agree to that!. Needless to say, I took the animal to another vet and within a week, I found the owner--all with no thanks to Ford Veterinary.

INCOMPETENT

I just moved to the neighborhood, so I arranged to have my 2 previous vets fax my pets' records--when I called here the following week, Kristen told me that she never received them. I had them re-faxed and called them to confirm that they got them, but when I went to Ford to pick up some food, they could not find the records. After a long search they finally did. The vet's assistant also lied to me--she said that it was NYS law that they had to re-examine my pet before they could sell me the prescription food even though Ford had my pet's records in their hands. I would never want to rely on this place if my animal really needed care.
