The laundromat used to be owned by the Movie Store which is located next door. Since it's changed ownership the quality of service has become non-existent. There isn't ever an attendant, no number to call if machines break, machines are in poor repair or don't operate at all, so the place is left abandoned during business hours and customers are disadvantaged.

Four weeks ago a machine wouldn't start and the door locked rendering me unable to get my clothes out of the machine. I went next door and asked for help and an employee was kind enough to unlock the door for me but said he could not refund the money because they don't own it anymore. He said he could fill out a slip for me and have me leave my contact info and sign it then she'll leave the $2.25 there at the Movie store where I could then pick it up.
Well, I have been there every week since to pick up the refund with no such luck. And today I found out the owner refuses to refund the money. Apparently, she doesn't have a reason for not doing so, she just doesn't feel she has to. Maybe because she runs a monopoly (only laundromat in town) and we are forced to continue to wash and dry there regardless if we want to or not.

This is just unacceptable. So if you have any other means of cleaning your clothes please do yourself a huge favor and bypass First Ave Coin Laundry.

Furthermore, when I informed the employee at the Movie Store I was going to write a review for the laundromat, she kicked me out of the store telling me she isn't going to tolerate my nasty attitude.

So not only will you not receive a refund but apparently, if you defend your rights at the video rental store, you will be treated like crap there too.
