Hospice of the Blugrass, located in Lexington, Ky., has been providing nationally recognized hospice and palliative care to people who are terminally ill and their families. Founded in 1978, it is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and certified by Medicare and Medicaid. The agency s various interdisciplinary teams serve more than 800 patients and their families in over 20 counties in Kentucky every day. Hospice of the Blugrass operates various sites in northern, central and southeastern Kentucky, and provides a continuum of care, from palliative outpatient services to family bereavement support. It also provides various support professionals, such as speech, physical and occupational therapists.
