A once great restaurant that's turned into a very poor facility.

Last evening I visited Malone's for what I thought would be a very pleasant evening. Turned out to be a nightmare!

I had made a reservation for a "quiet spot to have a good meal". Ended up sitting in a booth next to the bar watching the cleaning personnel polish all of the brass rails and in the traffic pattern for the main bar. From there things went down hill in a hurry. The eating area in the booth was sticky to the point where paper actually stuck to it. I inquired as to why it was that way and was told that the stuff used to seal the top wasn't dry yet and that most of the booth seating areas were that way. I complained about it to two different servers and neither offer to seat us in another area.

I resigned myself to the situation and we placed our orders for food - a house steak medium well and a baked potato, simple enough one would think. Should have known better!

My baked potato with nothing on it turned out to be one fully loaded. Sent it back and received one that apparently had been baked sometime earlier in the day and was cold. The steak had the look of a lump of charcoal with about two inches of eatable meat, which I didn't choose to do.

Malone's was once my favorite place in Lexington but after this experience my advise would be to run - don't walk - away from this place! Call it a $65.00 lesson!

I've always had the best service and food at Malone's. Best Steak around. I always recommend Malone's to family and friends.

If you like steaks, you will love Malone. Some of the best cuts of beef in America.
