I really love Newtown crossing. The location is the best to campus out of all the other places to live. The staff and maintenance is always helpful. Highly recommend.

Excellent location! The bridge is clutch when walking to class. I would've given them 4 stars, but they're under new management now and have a friendly staff that genuinely cares about you. Best living situation for the price.

As a parent I caution you: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!! The city of Lexington should be ashamed to allow a company like this to rent to college students. This is a flop house run by an unscrupulous company and is designed to fleece money from college kids who essentially have no rights. The apartments are dirty and in disrepair. Any requests or complaints fall upon the deaf ears of the college kids who work there and have no authority. They have a towing agreement with a company a few blocks which is cruising the complex looking to tow cars. Visitors cars will be towed almost immediately after arrival. They have no mechanism for visitor permits for when parents come to visit. They suggested I park in the Starbucks parking lot a couple of blocks away.

Newtown management is greedy and unprofessional. They will make up bogus fees at move out, and then won’t discuss the charges with you. I lived at Newtown for 4 years and paid my rent on time every month, that’s over $25,000 in rent, and when I tried to dispute an $11 move out fee I was told to pay in 10 days or my account would be sent to a collection agency. I was told this by leasing office staff, because management would not even communicate with me despite repeated attempts to discuss the charge, including a letter and phone calls.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Newtown Crossing is a horrible place to live. I cannot wait to move out. The office staff is full of students who are inexperienced liars who only care about how much money they can get out of you. From the very beginning I have had nothing but issues with them; when I sent in the first month's rent, my sister and I sent ours together on the same check, which was clearly marked as being for the both of us. We received notices shortly after that my sister had not paid her rent, and would face a late fee if it was not received within the following few days. They had credited me for two months, and completely overlooked the clear explanation that half was for my rent and half was for my sister. I had an issue a few months later in which I left my keys outside by accident, and the card I use to get into the bridge to campus was stolen off of my keyring. When I went to the office to see what I could do about getting a new card, they told me that since I didn't file a police report, I would have to pay $50 for a new one. At first I was told that I would be able to get one for free by the girl (she looked like a 20 year old student) who answered the phone when I called them about it. When I came in, the office manager came and told me that I would have to pay since he would only be getting one card back when I move out (and he insisted on calling it "the LOST card" instead of stolen). I've also had problems with my utilities bill. I am hardly ever home, and when I am I use as little electricity as possible (my sister no longer lives here). I have not once had a consistent bill since moving in, and when I called Kentucky Utilities, they offered no information about how to fix it. My bill went from 20 to 40 to 57 and so on, and this month I've gotten the highest one yet, for $125. There are too many issues to deal with here at Newtown and I sincerely hope that you will reconsider and read some other reviews before you sign any leases. I have found numerous reviews, all of them bad. I wish I would have found them before moving in. I implore you to think twice about this apartment complex. Please save yourself the trouble and find a different apartment.
