Emily Melsom, MD, grew up in northern Virginia and came to South Carolina to complete her undergraduate degree in exercise science at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She then also completed her medical degree at the University of South Carolina before moving to Georgia for residency training at Gwinnett Medical Center in Atlanta. Dr. Melsom, her husband and her son are now happily settled in Lexington, South Carolina.
