I live in Houston. There are some amazing restaurants in Houston, and ive been to quite a few incredible places. Now that being said im actually the easiest person possible to please with food. Well i was visiting my mother out near Liberty when she wanted to take us out to eat and we went to this place. Now the atmospher seemed ok, it was quiet, almost no customers(probably should have taken this as a hint). Now when i am unsure of what to eat at a restaurant i usually play it safe and order chicken fried steak(if available), simply because you cant screw that up if you live and breathe in Texas. My husband had shrimp fried rice, we ordered fried mushrooms and cheese stucks for an appetizer. Now i will say the mozzarella sticks were good, very good, which caused me to look forward to the meal. The restaurant doesnt have mashed potatoes(they werent out...they just dont make them), that seemed really odd. So i got fries. Now i wish i could describe this horrible food, im gonna try, so here goes, the chicken fried steak was not home made, in fact it was some sort of disgusting compressed meat pattie from a bag labeled chicken fried steak, im positive of it. It was so gross, didnt even taste like meat. My husbands shrimp was gummy and the rice was dry. My stepfather ordered fried fish and you could tell it wasnt fresh, that it had been frozen, had that mushy frozen fish fillet thing going on. Put it to you this way, this restaurant is in business simply because it doesnt have much in the way of competition. If it opened up where i live it would have been closed and bankrupt within a week. If there was an apocalypse and this restaurant was the only place left.........i would starve first. Hipe this helps, dont waste money on places that have no business cooking you food. Oh and the only waitress there couldnt seem to remember a single thing we said lol, she wasnt terrible though and was really nice at least.
