Shawnee Township Administration Building, located in Lima, Ohio, oversees the operations of the city. The city is made up of various departments, such as utilities, public servants, police, fire rescue, roads and zoning. The police department is equipped with modern police vehicles and communications equipment. It is supported by a 24-hour public safety division communications center through which officers have instant access to the National Crime Information Center, the Ohio Law Enforcement Automated Data System and nationwide teletype communications capability with other law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. The city s zoning commission is designated by the board of township trustees and assists in the amendment, interpretation, administration and enforcement of the zoning resolution. It recommends approval and denial in cases of requests for change of zoning and is responsible for the review and approval of planned unit developments.
