My husband and I have lived in a century management apartment for almost two years. We chose our current apartment (1824 M St) because it was cheap and close to the UNL campus. It is NOT worth the money. Day one when we moved in, it was clear that the apartment was not clean. There was dirt and grime in the kitchen. We vacuumed up two containers full of dirt/dust. Our dishwasher was broke for over a year. We submitted maintenance request after maintenance request, but we weren't listened to. The dishwasher continued to leak out into the kitchen. They finally replaced it, but it is obvious that there is water damage to the boards in the kitchen, as the paint has come off and the boards themselves have actually fallen out. Furthermore, the laundry facilities in the building are horrible. We lost hundreds of dollars in clothing that was damaged. The dries don't dry. They leave holes in your clothes. One of the dryers even left black marks all over my load of whites, ruining them. The washers are iffy, at best. I lost a bunch of delicates because the washer ran HOT water instead of cold. We have not ever been apologized to or given any kind of compensation for our losses. DO NOT RENT FROM CENTURY MANAGEMENT. I would gladly have spent $100 per month on rent to not have all the headaches from broken appliances and frustrating customer service. Our car and motorcycle were vandalized on several occasions, and we had to call 911 on multiple occasions because of domestic disputes of other people in the building.

Provided by YP.comThese century management people are notorious. They find all kinds of ways to not return your security deposit. I have asthma and so I am extremely conscious of cleanliness. For example, I personally got my carpet professionally cleaned just two weeks before I moved out (and the carpet was new, in top condition), and my apartment was in a condition better that what it was when I had moved in. I spent two days just cleaning my apartment just before I moved out. Yet, they ate up my security deposit, by deducting $$ for carpet cleaning, general cleaning, replacement of old parts that they should have replaced anyway on their own, etc. I have heard similar stories from others. I understand that they are especially notorious with international students in such matters, because international students don't/cannot fight back against their unfair behaviors. And the property managers are impolite and unprofessional (eg., the guy named Jim Franke). My experiences with other management offices have been far better (professional, and always gave 100% of my security deposit back).
