Life is what happens to you when you had other plans! I never anticipated that I would be needing Social Security Disability benefits at my age and had been reluctant to apply. When my doctors finally had a firm diagnosis and made the suggestion, I reluctantly began the application process. I was denied the normal 2 times before contacting Mr. Haszard at this firm. Mr. Haszard had been recommended by two separate sources that I trusted very much. When my case was accepted, Mr. Haszard and his assistant, Corrine, took all the struggle and worry away from me as they went into action. I anticipated a two year wait so relaxed and concentrated on dealing with my illness. To my surprise, I received a call 10 months later that my application had been approved. Within days, I had received my first payment and all has gone well since. I cannot recommend this firm enough. They were upfront, honest, and realistic and they followed through as they promised. Most of all, they did this in a kind and caring manner at a time when I needed it most. I will not hesitate to return to this firm if a need arises.

I applied for Social Security Disability after I was hospitalized for the third time with the same injury (due to diabetes and neuropathy in my foot). I was denied and I called a couple of other lawyers who had no interest in helping me with my case. Feeling discouraged, I called McHenry Haszard and an interview was arranged. I saw Mr. Haszard and Corinne on the same day. They took my case, got my medical files, and set to work. That was in April. By July, I had a letter in hand from SSA telling me that I was to receive benefits, including past benefits. In fact, Corinne called me about a week before I received my letter to congratulate me. While not every case can be settled as quickly as mine was, I firmly believe that if it wasn't for McHenry Haszard Hansen Roth and Hupp, I wouldn't be on disability today.

I HAD A BAD HEART ATTACK IN MARCH 2007. I LOST A BIG PORTION OF MY HEART AND IT IS NOT COMING BACK. MY EFI WAS 30 AND THEY PUT IN A DEFIBRILLATOR TO KEEP ME GOING. I WAS ALREADY ON CHIPS, THE STATE BACKED RISK HEALTH INSURANCE, SO MY COMBINED PREMIUMS AND BILLS WERE OVER $20000 YEARLY.



I READ THROUGH ALL THE SOCIAL SECURITY GUIDLINES AND EVERYTHING I READ TOLD ME THAT I QUALIFIED FOR DISABILITY. I FILLED OUT THE MULTI-PAGED APPLICATION AND SUBMITTED IT AND THEY TURNED ME DOWN SEVERAL MONTHS LATER. ACCORDING TO PROTOCAL, I FILED ANOTHER, WHICH THEY TURNED DOWN IN ONLY ABOUT 60 DAYS. I READ A FEW BLOGS AND FOUND THAT A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE GET TURNED DOWN THE FIRST TIME AND ALMOST EVERYBODY THE SECOND GO AROUND.



TO MAKE A SHORT STORY LONG, I GAVE UP. I WAS OF COURSE DISCOURAGED. I STARTED WORKING AND GOT MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD WHEN I WAS 16 AND ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS HAD PAYED IN OVER $150000. I WAS BEAT UP BEFORE I STARTED, AND I FELT A LOT WORSE AT THIS POINT. MY WIFE CONVINCED ME THAT I NEEDED TO KEEP GOING.



JIM HASZARD WAS REFERRED TO ME BY A FRIEND. I HAD TALKED TO SEVERAL PEOPLE AND THEY ALL SAID THAT I NEEDED TO FIND SOMEONE THAT SPECIALIZED IN THIS TYPE OF LAW. I MET WITH JIM AND FOUND HIM TO VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ALSO PERSONABLE. I WAS OF COURSE IMPRESSED WITH HOW MUCH HE KNEW THAT I DID NOT KNOW.



I WENT IN FOR THE INITIAL INTERVIEW AND PROVIDED A FEW OF MY RECORDS. AFTER THAT, JIM AND HIS FIRM HANDLED EVERYTHING. THE BACKLOG WITH THE SOCIAL SECURITY CASES WAS LARGE, BUT EVENTUALLY JIM CALLED AND SAID I WAS GOING TO GET MY DAY IN COURT. AS IT TURNED OUT, I DID NOT EVEN NEED TO GO TO COURT. I GOT THE LETTER FROM THEM IN THE MAIL AND MY FIRST WORDS TO MY WIFE WERE "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. I HAD GIVEN UP". WITHIN 2 WEEKS I RECEIVED MY CHECK FOR THE CURRENT MONTH AND ALSO RECEIVED COMPENSATION BACK TO THE DATE OF MY DISABILITY. I WILL BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR MEDICARE IN 4 MONTHS, EVEN THOUGH I AM ONLY 61.



I DON'T REALLY LIKE TO BE INVOLVED IN LEGAL MATTERS, BUT I WOULD HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY COMPENSATION IF I HAD NOT BEEN REPRESENTED BY JIM. I AM NOW WINTERING IN ARIZONA. ALTHOUGH MONEY CANNOT BUY HAPPINESS OR HEALTH, IT BEATS LIVING IN POVERTY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND JIM HASZARD AND HIS FIRM.
