As a part of the University of Nebraska Lincoln Department of Food Science & Technology, the Food Processing Center provides technical and business development services to meet the needs of clients in the food service industry. The center offers a variety of laboratory services for the analysis and evaluation of food products and ingredients. It features microbiological, analytical, product development and sensory laboratories, as well as conducts research projects on issues related to food products and packaging. The Food Processing Center serves individual entrepreneurs, companies, and small-, medium- and large-scale production firms. It also conducts internal product reviews, trade shows, demonstrations and consumer research studies. The center additionally focuses on contract manufacturing, dehydration and extrusion services.
