Established in 1779, Lincoln County Public Works is a department of Lincoln County. The department provides utility services, such as billing and collections, which include accepting applications for service, accepting payment for monthly bills, assessing fines/penalties for violation of policies and compiling meter reading data for monthly billing, among others. The department's engineering division reviews utility plans for adherence to specifications and procedures and provides utility availability information to developers. Its water treatment division treats water, maintains water pressure and distributes the water to homes and businesses. Lincoln County Public Works also maintains and repairs county water distribution and sewer collection lines.
