Daniel Street Elementary School addresses the individual needs of the students in grades kindergarten through five and encourages full participation of parents, teachers, students, administrators and community members. Each student at Daniel Street attends special programs, including physical education, art, music, library and computer instruction weekly. Students are also offered individual instrumental music lessons in the fourth and fifth grades. Its psychologists, social worker, speech and reading teachers perform evaluation, guidance and remedial work. The school has two full-time nurses to take care of the medical needs of students. Its additionally provides after school programs, such as reading, peer leadership, pen pals, cultural arts program, student council and drug intervention.
