Disappointed

My husband and I decided to try Formaggio's the other night after reading an article in the Friday paper about it. We were very disappointed. After seating ourselves, we waited a long time for our drink order to be taken, then waited a long time to get our drinks, then waited a long time for our meal order to be taken, then waited a long time to get our meal. We almost walked out. There seemed to be only one waitress working like a chicken with her head cut off while I counted at least 6 other people in the back who didn't seem to be doing much. One other person did bring a drink or two out and a salad or two, while our waitress was carrying lots of food and drinks on her shoulders, arms, etc. The food wasn't good either. My husband ordered a calzone. It had a soft crust instead of a crispy crust it would normally have, the bottom was burnt, and skimpy inside. I ordered the baked ziti which wasn't too bad except that all of their food is made with cheddar cheese as well as mozzerella. Most of us Italians don't like cheddar cheese in our Italian food. The portions were okay, but not enough to take home leftovers. The price would have been okay if the food and service were good. The only good thing we have to say about this place was that our blonde, thin, little waitress was the only thing keeping this place going. If I were a restaurant owner, I would snatch her up. We'll stick to our favorite Italian restaurant, Angelina's on Brandon Blvd., or Mellow Mushroom on Causeway Blvd. for their terrific calzone's.
