Provided by YP.comI bought a home in Heritage Bend in Mckinney as is and didn't ask for 1 upgrade or addition. I bought whatever it was they were almost done building at the time. Everything was delivered as I was told. They were great working with the most crooked company in the US, Bank of America and after several delays we finally moved in.
The quality of our home seems to be good. All of our requests for repairs have been pretty timely with the exception of the below. The house has had very mild settling and seems solid over a year later.
Here is the negative. I have had AC/heating problems from the get go. They use a contractor K&S Heating and Air and they have to be the most incompetent people in the business I have ever come close to. They sell and install York heat pump units and have mostly bad things to say and obviously can't fix them.
All in all their contractor was out at least 12-15 times in a year and never once did I get a call from an upper manager to apologize for all of our issues. This doesn't include the manufacturer finally getting involved and sending their own crew out. Towards the end they would send someone out to our house but would in my opinion hide and not follow up with me. They seemed to pass the buck to the contractor who was obviously not getting the job done. I can't even possibly calculate all the money we have lost in our energy bills because most of the issues have caused the units to work constantly to warm or heat the downstairs.
Additionally things to look for I have noticed is the model has radiant barrier in it and they say you get what the model has here or at least did. However I have noticed at least one house recently that was built that did not get this even though we did and the model has it.
The other complaint I have is if they have a hot model like the one we purchased they seem to be willing to overbuild that same model with little deviation in the elevation. They have no problem building the exact same house across the street many times over. So if you are thinking about building in a addition with lots still available around you keep that in mind.
The final complaint I have is the wiring of the cable in the house. There wasn't much I could do to fix this at the point we contracted on the house, but they call one room a media/4th bedroom, however there isn't 1 cable connection anywhere. There isn't a cable connection anywhere upstairs with 2 bedrooms, a game room, and a media/4th bedroom. If you are building or they just started look for this because this is can be a big expense when you go to get cable.
