The Arkansas Department of Career Education, earlier known as the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, serves youths, adults and individuals with disabilities. The department administers English as a Second Language and GED programs. Its Arkansas High-Tech Scholarship Program serves students enrolling in postsecondary technical courses. The Arkansas Department of Career Education also works in partnership with technical institutes. The department offers financial assistance through the Arkansas Technical Careers Student Loan Forgiveness Program. In addition, it provides courses in science, technology, marketing, sales, human services, engineering, mathematics and manufacturing. The Arkansas Department of Career Education offers work-based learning and support courses.
