Named for baseball great Jackie Robinson, this 9-acre park was dedicated on June 16, 1965. The dedication plaque was unveiled by Los Angeles County Supervisor Warren Dorn and honored guest Mr. Jackie Robinson. One of the driving forces behind Jackie Robinson Park was and is today the Women’s Club of Sun Village. Their primary purpose is to promote education, literacy and philanthropic activity among its members and to develop an interest in civic, social, and economic conditions in the community.
