My husband and I made the mistake of hiring Strevig Plumbing and Sons last month. Exact dates to be posted in the follow up of this review. In short, our sink is still clogged after less than a month of service (no, nothing but liquids have gone down the drain), their financial charge outrageously over priced for 1.5 hours of faulty work: $620. They also spent much time on the road to supposedly get a piece that we did not request for them to get/buy and our gate guard witnessed them going to Sheetz while on the clock and not for gas. I will be calling them for a 3/4 refund. They are welcome to come and see that the sink is just as it was before they came to "fix" it. After my talk, this review will be updated and re-posted all over the Internet. Whether the modification is favorable or not is 100% up to their response and follow through of whatever promise they may make. In addition, a complaint through the BBB though they are not listed. Unfortunately, we failed to check reviews BEFORE hiring them. They were chosen out of familiarity that a past landlord used them when we lived in a rental. We will not ever make this mistake again.

UPDATE:
I spoke with the new owner, Scott Atland, on 12/12/19 by phone. He is the son of the previous owner and took the reign in August of 2019. Scott listened and took the following actions: discounted cost for services that he agreed were not necessary in addition to being in the process of changing some company policies in this regard, stated that there is a 1 year warranty of their work, and would send different employees 12/13 to rectify our plumbing problem with the pipes not completed by the previously sent employees. He followed through. He sent Travis Conaway and Johnny Kehr.

Travis and Johnny were prompt and very thorough. They found and fixed one of the main causes of the problem that was overlooked by the previous employees. Because the work is under warranty, there were no additional charges. As long as the customers are not repeating the same action(s) that caused the problem initially, rectifying problems are covered under their warranty for a year.

We highly recommend Strevig & Sons under their new management and owner. Thank you, Scott, Travis, and Johnny, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Highly recommend

We called Strevig's because are furnace had stopped working. They were able to make it out the same day and told us that it needed to be replaced because the combustion chamber was rusted. We got a price on a new one and it was very reasonable and they had us back in heat in 2 days. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Poor customer service and rude owners. They replaced a frost free hydrant that was leaking in my pasture and said the system was pressure tested. One week later I run the hydrant and the weeping tile that releases the excess water from the pipe completely busts the first time I run it and the ground underneath begins to soak. They come back out and dig it up and do a pressure check at the house to find that the pressure is too high and a pressure reducing valve needs replaced because when they did the job the first time they didnt check the water pressure. They should have.checked that the first time - I dont understand why they did not when they say their plumbers are so great. They come back, replace the pressure reducing valve at the house and the hydrant, then charge me the new hydrant price, labor to reinstall and the valve, blaming me because the pressure valve just HAPPENED to fail after they left so it was not their fault. I call to voice my concern and the owner is dismissive to me saying I dont know anything. Utimately they take the cost of the new hydrant and nothing else. They should have been more thorough and discovered the problem with the pressure in my opinion. I do not trust them and strongly recommend you use someone else.

I was having an issue with me heat staying on so i had fixed it temporally. The following weekend it went out again at night. I had gave it the temporary fix and decided to call Strevigs. I had to go to work and leave this task with my wife (not mechanical) and they said to her that everything was fine and it looked like i fixed and told her that he would not charge a full hour of labor since nothing was wrong.

We get the bill for $80 which equated to one full hour of labor to tell us that nothing was wrong. So in good faith we paid it, in the event that something like what i am about to get into would have happened.

About a week later the heat goes out again on a Saturday ( a cold Saturday i.e.single digits) i called them and no one answered and i left a message, they called me back and said they would be right out. He goes down and looks at my furnace with me and says that i need to replace my heat sensor and gas valve. i asked him how much would the parts be. He then replies that the sensor would be about $10-15 and the valve would be $150 or much more.

He calls and lets me know that the valve would run about $250, i said to him well lets just replace the sensor and deal with the valve later. He then said no problem and that he would call when the part was in and he did. We schedule a time for him to come to replace the sensor. He comes out and replaces the sensor and heat works fine.

We then receive a bill in the mail and found out the part was not 10-15 dollars, in fact it was $50 and that we were charged for double time on that Saturday. i asked them to work with me on payment, they requested half i told hi i would send what i could so i sent $50 and was one day away from making my next payment and i get a certified letter from them in the mail taking me to court.

Take this as you will, just proceed with caution and by the way my $250 valve that did not need to be replaced still works.

Disappointed to say the least

Extremely rude, unprofessional, and not forthright in their ability to complete the requested job. After they left, I wondered when they were coming back to finish the job, and was advised they had completed. I had to spend nearly additionally $800 to have someone else come back and fix what they had done. And they operate without getting required permits to "save the customer money". Shame on me for falling for their sales pitch!
