This is a wonderful and terrific traffic school. I will recommend this above all other traffic school. It's fast and very easy. I just moved from Pennsylvania, where my experience with schools was terrible, here everything in high mark : flexible schedule, high skill set of instructors and friendly communications in the process of class driving !!! You dont feel self like a baby, with first min your driving you can feel self possibilities. My instructor was Gilbert, awesome person, so much a patience... and specially, i can talk, i am complicated student, with quickly start get rattled just thought about driving ))). Would recommend.

I worked for Peak for a short time last year. I'm surprised Gretchen's son drove with Gilbert. 80 or 90 percent of the time, he chooses to drive with the young ladies. Someone else I ran into was not as impressed with him. Her daughter said that he bought her lunch, but she thought she was paying for driving instruction, not a lunch date. She also thought it was kind of tacky that he was always out front smoking when she drove up and always kind of looked hung over.I wish I could agree with Gretchen that it is a professional company and safety is their priority, but I can't. An earlier post where I talked about an example of the safety issue disappeared for some reason. In a response to that post, the owner said former employees should not be listened to. I guess he feels only the owner has a right to critique his own business, not former employees or customers.

As an ex employee, I had submitted some thoughts on why Peak is a bad place to learn to drive. Their response is again a little off base. As far as the other employee who quit, medical may have been part of it, but a near accident and other factors were possibly involved also.I didn't need a job fast (or at all). I thought it would be a fun part time job (it was, as far as the kids were concerned). The small salary they paid me (the times they did pay), was not a major factor in putting my kids through college or paying my mortgage. They are right, I didn't give two months notice, it was two and a half. I didn't quit without notice, and it wasn't a Monday. They even called me back after my 'non notice'. I didn't have another job (and still don't). I'm self employed. I wasn't upset about the drives not showing up, but found it interesting that when someone didn't show (which is another story), it would suddenly be 'my drive'. Many of the 'no shows' were probably people disenchanted with the school, even though they had already paid for the drives. One of the last 'no shows' had signed up in 2012. He probably had trouble scheduling (as it was now late 2013) and gave up.The hillbillies who own Peak say to 'talk to anyone about our reputation'. Please do. Just today, interestingly enough, I ran into someone I had met once who requested me when her student drove. I had quit before her student drove, and she volunteered that she was extremely unhappy with the school and their lack of professionalism. She had considered posting a review but hadn't. I won't mention her name, of course. If she and others who had a bad experience want to take the time to post, they can.I wasn't going to go into detail, but since they mentioned the safety issue, here are the specifics on one of those incidents. On a drive, we noticed that one of the front tires was very low. I filled the tire and drove carefully back to the school. I told the goofy little guy who touts himself as the 'chief driver'. He was upset when I made it clear I wasn't going to drive that car immediately with another student until we checked for a nail. We did, and there was. He took the car somewhere (wouldn't let me go along), came back about 7 or 8 minutes later, and the tire was 'fixed'.I wasn't upset at all about the 'no shows' or low salary. I do like to see good businesses do well and bad businesses go under. I enjoy teaching kids to drive, and I also enjoy flight instructing. In those areas, good instructors and good schools are extremely important to peoples' lives and health.Like they say at Peak, check it out for yourself. Check out their school and others. Check out the equipment, ask questions, and find others who have experience with the school. In their rebuttal to my first post, they say not to trust an ex employee (who has experience with their school). Should ex students not be trusted either? I had said something good about the school in my first post. Maybe that shouldn't be trusted either.

I worked at Peak for awhile and think much of their advertising is deceptive. I had no experience as a driving instructor when hired, and my training consisted of a few drives with the other 3 instructors, who contradicted each other. If you are considering Peak, check it out for yourself before paying or signing up. Check out the cars, especially the one used for stick shift training. Ask them to demonstrate how the heater and defroster work. Check out the school itself, the cleanliness of the classroom and restrooms, the spacious lobby, etc. Ask about scheduling drives. Ask how the rescheduling works if a drive is cancelled for weather, car problems, instructors quitting (2 of the 4 instructors quit recently), or something else. Sit in the lobby when drives go out at 3 and 5, and notice the interaction among parents, students, instructors and the receptionist. Ask how many instructors have quit or been fired in the last year. Ask how many accidents the school has had in the last year. Then go to at least one other school and make similar comparisons. All 3 of my kids went to a different driving school and they seemed alot more professional. When I worked at Peak a short time and decided to quit, I gave 2 months notice because I really enjoyed the students and didn't want to mess up the schedule, but they became unbearable to work for and I didn't stay the whole 2 months. The school is one of the cheaper ones around, and if that's all you can afford, Dave's classroom is one good aspect to the school, so it might be worth doing for that. But in the driving part of the school, I didn't find safety to be as important to the owners as they say it is.

I worked for Peak for a short time and disagree with some of their claims. They claim all instructors are certified, go through intense training, and have years of experience. I had years of flight instruction experience, but none in a car, did a few drives with other instructors, and was given no instruction in how to teach standard transmission, skid recovery, etc. They claim they are the best school in Colorado. I only know of one other school, Master Drive (where my 3 kids went), and Master Drive is much better, more safety conscious, has nicer equipment, better organized, etc. They are looking for a part time instructor. That's because, of the 4 instructors they had (after they fired one), two of us quit and there was at least one accident recently. They claim their cars are clean newer models. Last time I was supposed to drive the standard transmission car, it was still a piece of junk after I cleaned out all the pop cans, Starbucks containers, etc., and some things didn't work in the car.I decided, shortly after being hired, that I would quit because it was a very disorganized, poorly run school and I had an offer that paid more than the $10 an hour they paid. However, the students were fun to work with, and I didn't want to mess up their schedule, so I agreed to work 2 more months. They got much worse then, and started holding back some of the pay, so I didn't finish out the 2 months. One good thing about the school is Dave's classroom experience. If you can't afford to go to one of the better schools, it might be worth it to go to Peak for the classroom.

Peak Driver's Ed was recommended to me by many other parents in the area. They were absolutely right! This is a professionally run company with the safety of the new teen driver as their number one priority. My son enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Gilbert was great as they drove, and helped him to more aware and gave him many good pointers in a patient way. My son has a busy sports schedule, yet they were worked with us and were understanding. I plan on having my daughters go to Peak when they are ready to drive.

I'm a new immigrant from China. That's why I'm learning to drive in my mid thirties. I find the teaching and coaching in Peak Driver's Ed very helpful! Dave taught us valuable things about what to know when getting on the road. And Gilbert is a very responsible coach. He didn't grab my wheel when I drove, or step on the brakes too often. Instead he encouraged and inspired me, and gave very specific instructions. Now I've got my license in a very short time. Thanks to them!
