Steve Friedrich entered private cardiology practice at Rose Medical Center in 1993. He joined South Denver Cardiology Associates in 2002. Steve was born and raised in Niles, Michigan. He received his bachelors degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. Residency was at Massachusetts General Hospital and fellowship (general and interventional cardiology) was at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He has authored numerous articles in interventional cardiology while training in Boston. Awards include: Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, William Dodd Robinson Internal Medicine Award and Hewlett Packard Top Medical Graduate Award at Michigan, Merck Fellow of the American College of Cardiology during fellowship, and Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award for Housestaff Teaching while at Rose Medical Center. 5280 magazine has recognized him as one of Denvers Top Doctors in 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2002. Steve has held academic appointments as Instructor in Medicine Harvard Medical School and Assistant Clinical Professor University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology.Steve is married with three grown children. He enjoys staying active outdoors and playing recreational hockey. He served on the medical staff of the Colorado Avalanche for their first 21 seasons in Denver.
