Livermore Valley Charter Prep High School
2541 Portola Ave, Livermore, CA 94551
Let’s start with the basic information you might be seeking. LVCP is the newest public high school in the Livermore Valley and opened its doors in fall of 2010. The student body will grow to 1080 students in grades 9-12 over the next few years. LVCP is also a charter school which simply means that it is a public school operating independently of a local school board, answering to the California Department of Education instead. LVCP is a free public school without enrollment boundaries and students attend from many different communities. LVCP is owned and operated by the Tri Valley Learning Corporation.
As a charter school, LVCP is free to act and think independently from large district management where schools generally follow a similar approach. This independence allows us to be creative in every way and is more similar to the thought processes that drive private school education. Charter schools offer the best of both public and private educational experiences.
