It is obvious from the negative review below and from all the other negative reviews you have left on various web sites, you have no real knowledged of the dance world. Ms. Jean's is neither the best, nor the worst. Without criticism, students would never improve. Without striving for the best, students would never improve. If what you are looking for is "fun" for your child, don't take her to a studio that is serious about teaching the art of dance. I have patronized studios on the East and West side of the state and can honestly say that there have been good and bad points in all, but what has kept me paying their bill is the quality of instruction. Ms. Jean's instruction is excellent! Stop trying to slam someone because you are basically an unhappy person. Look in the mirror and you'll see where the real problem lies!

Let me just clear up a few items from the below tirade. Teachers are experienced I agree. The owner of this studio still has the spunk and desire for dance that I wish more people half her age had. She cares about the students and wants them to work hard and not give up if they want to follow their dream. So a critique now and then so bad habits are caught ahead of time can be a good thing. The owner has taught students who have gone on to dance for renown ballet companies, perform on the biggest of stages in front of thousands of people. She has also earned the right to teach those classes she loves, and work closely with the students who show the desire to go places. And she should be forgiven for letting another teacher take the Hip Hop classes. You can say all you want about the teaching, but learning is up to the dancer. You only get out what you put in. If you are looking for a place just to lose weight and jump around then might I suggest Gymboree. This studio is for DANCERS.

Normal parents looking for gentle instruction in dance for your little girls, BEWARE. Here's what I wish I knew about this studio before ever crossing the threshold:* First off, the positive. The teachers here are experienced. Some have lost their love and patience and probably should've retired a while ago, but others are an excellent mix of discipline and encouragement. The owner for whom the studio is named appears to have gone into semi-retirement, and that is a very good thing, because she is an unstable, nasty piece of work. Some people adore the owner for whom the studio is named, but they are certainly inside the 'inner circle' of competitive dance junkies, and they are treated much differently than the average customer. * The owners, staff and fellow compadres in the competitive dance circuit are *extremely* clique-y and gossipy. They eat, sleep and breathe this stuff, and what is 'normal' to them (skimpy costumes, barking at children to STRAIGHTEN THEIR KNEES, etc) is alarmin
