Provided by YP.comIf you want a vet that completely ignores their veterinary oath, this is the place to go. In order to “teach an owner a lesson” they will stop treating your pet, even if they need regular medical attention. Don’t let the “niceness” fool you. They were providing care for one of my pets. I arrived one day to pick up a prescription and was handed an envelope. Within was a note saying, without explanation, that they were refusing to provide medical care for my pets from that point on. I tried to get an explanation- none was given. My pet was in the midst of long-term care needing regular check ups, blood work, and ongoing medications due to having a stomach tube. The last contact I had with them was on the phone with me begging for help in finding my pets prescription food. It was out of stock everywhere. Somehow me being in a frantic search for food was enough to get us booted. Apparently, if they suddenly decide they do not want you as a client any longer, your pet gets to suffer the consequences--your animal's health be damned. I guess that’s why they are always looking for new clients. I should have known when, in the very first visit when I mentioned seeing reviews, I was cautioned to ignore a particularly harsh one. Maybe that should have been my red flag. The second red flag was the multiple times I was forced to drive to Leesburg for care because they would claim to be “uncomfortable” performing common medical procedures on my pet. So my pet's medical care has been delayed while I try and find another vet to see him--not to mention the added stress on my pet having to adjust to yet another vet. So much for being the compassionate animal lovers they claim to be if they will risk the health of an animal to ‘punish’ the owner for some unknown perceived slight. The silver lining for me is that this uncaring attitude towards pets has come to light. I will be sharing my experience with the entirety of the local area. For those who would say they ‘love’ this vet—just wait until the day you do or say something, unbeknownst to you, which they do not like. They will drop you like a hot potato. If your pet dies because of it, they could not care less.

Provided by YP.comDr Olson and her team are fantastic! They treat all my cats as if they belong to them. Three of my cats are older and recently went in for checkups, shots and some dental work. Dr Olson's staff called several times over the following days to check up on them. I had never had this happen with other vets we had used. One of the cats didn't recover as quickly or as well as the others. Dr Olson went out of her way to check up on Munchie and stay in touch with me about her condition. They are a fantastic bunch and I would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Provided by YP.comI have been taking my grumpy old Basset Hound to Lakewood Animal Hospital for over a year. They have been so great. My dog can be a bit trying but they have been so wonderful with him. Whether we have gone there for a problem or just a nail trim, every visit has been a good one.

Provided by YPmobileWe have two dogs, both rescues that have needed a fair amount of TLC. The staff at Lakewood is always professional, friendly, and eager to meet our needs. Our bully dog had heartworm when we rescued him and even after enduring the painful treatments he still loves visiting the clinic. We recommend Lakewood all the time to friends and family!

Provided by YP.comI started taking my pets to see Dr. Olson about 6 years ago when I first moved to this area from Northern Virginia. At the time, she was with another practice, but from the first appointment, I was hooked. I trusted her completely with my elderly cat, who was diabetic and had kidney problems, and with her compassion and care, he lived a wonderful life until he was 17 years old. I was thrilled when she opened her own practice and continue to take my indoor cat, 2 outdoor cats, and new dog to her. This is not an office that rushes you in and out. Dr. Olson and her staff will spend as much time with you as you need to get your questions and concerns addressed, either in person or on the phone. Her staff is amazing and it is abundantly clear that they all love what they do. I have referred my friends and family to Dr. Olson and feel 100% confident that my fur babies are in the best possible hands when they see her.

Provided by YP.comDr. Olsen and staff are very personable, friendly and professional. The entire Hospital has an awesome bedside manner and great at making us parents feel comfortable. Dr. Olsen and Karolin on Thanksgiving eve saw our puppy as late as 5:40 pm, when our puppy hurt her arm and we badly needed their help. They were there for us and it was a great experience after all, and very affordable! What a fantastic clinic and very highly recommended! The Gaddy's - Sydney, Ceasar, Teagan, Jason and Heather :)

Provided by YP.comWow!! I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Amy Olson and crew at Lakewood. The friendliest, most professional vet clinic I've ever been to. My husband and I purchased a 12 week old Cane Corso and took him in for his first health check a few days later. He is really shy and suspicious of people so I was worried about how he would react. Well, after about 2 or 3 minutes of Dr. Olson and her technician, Carolynn (hope I spelled that right), he was eating out of their hands and his little tail was wagging out of control. The next time we went in, a week later, he remembered them and how nice they were (and the treats of course) and it was a much better visit. I would highly recommend this clinic because they genuinely care about their customers and their pets. We were treated like family there. Thanks again Lakewood!

Provided by YP.comWe have brought our pets to Dr. Amy Olson even before she recently opened her own Veterinary Hospital in Locust Grove. When Annie, our then 13 year old Pomeranian was diagnosed with a bladder tumor several years ago, Dr. Olson prescribed a course of treatment that gave our little friend about 18 months of happy, comfortable and energetic life before finally succumbing to the cancer. We are pleased that Dr. Olson is continuing to practice in our area, and highly recommend her to all those who seek expert and compassionate veterinary care for their companion animals.

When we walk in Becky at the front knows who we are and checks us right in. And even with our crazy work schedules, I can call up in the morning and have an appoinment for my cats or dog that afternoon. They do everything in their power to make our visit easy not just for us, but for the animals. You Must switch your pets to Dr. Olson, she will take great care of your loved ones!!!!
