Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) were created by Congress as part of the Older Americans Act in 1965. They are public or private non-profit agencies, designated by the state to address the needs of persons 60 years and older at the local level. There are approximately 670 Area Agencies on Aging throughout the country. The Bear River Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with local Senior Centers, is the focal point for information available to Utah's older adults living in Box Elder, Cache, and Rich Counties. (Service Area Map) In addition, the Bear River AAA provides support to senior citizens, disabled adults, and family caregivers with several different programs. These programs and services are designed to assist older individuals to maintain their health and independence in their homes and communities.
