I used Skabelund roofing for a tear-off and re-roof October 2010. I counted ~200 shingles where the crew left the nails exposed, not under the shingle above. Needless to say, this is NOT how you're supposed to install asphalt shingles. Skabelund's remedy was to put tar on the exposed nails.
