***Beware of Over-Vaccinating Your Pet ***I brought in my healthy dog in for (3) vaccinations to get up to date. They literally tried to up-sell me on (9) different products and (2) additional vaccinations that were completely unnecessary. I'm leary of practices such as this and over- vaccinating. When I refused, they insisted upon having me sign waivers as if I was accepting liability for declining their sales effort. There's a point you cross when the ambition to drive revenue not only creates a bad customer experience but endangers the health of someone's pet . They've crossed that line and I'll find another vet.

used this vet since 2000. Our Newfoundland is 13 1/2. She no longer is being groomed professionally because she can't stand long and getting her in the car is extremely difficult. She needed a rabies shot and nails clipped, NO physical as she is on borrowed time as it is. called me to bring a stool sample for her physical. was told will not see her without a physical. So I canceled the visit. Clerk told me that since I refuse the physical, they will not prescribe her rimadyl that she needs for her arthritis. Basically holding her prescription hostage unless I fork over the $200+ for a physical so they can tell me she is old. She is in pain when she does not get her arthritis meds but apparently the money they will get for a physical is more important to Crossroads then keeping a dog (that was a patient for 13 years!) comfortable. I am looking for another vet for my 2 dogs and cat.

Hit or miss over the years, switched vets within crossroads until we stopped at Dr Hertel. Finally stopped using them when during a normal physical I asked the Dr to check the animal ears because the animal had been scratching. He took an otoscope without a probe cup attached and placed it about 6 inches away from the animals ears and said "oh they look fine, if it continues just bring it back"... which is code for 'not included in the physical and will be an upcharge when you bring it back'. The next hospital we took the animal to diagnosed ear mites and showed us the ear mite stain test results and showed us how to use an otoscope and gave us a link to buy our own otoscope. Been going to the new place ever since.

Be careful and take your dog else where for surgery. My dog went in for routine dental care and came out with slight brain damage and my pocket book drained. The pet was not monitored completely while under anesthesia and went into unmonitored hypothermia during the last 15 minutes while under anesthesia. It took 4 days for the dog to stand up on his own. I had to go to another vet to have all the records and case interpreted to find out what happened. Never again to Crossroads.

I cannot say enough about this office. One of my dogs had a serious issue and it seemed to be taken more personally than just being another patient. The 2 vets I work with here have both surprised me by researching my many questions on their own personal time (one being 8 months pregnant and doing the research at home while unable to work). Over the years I have used 5 vet offices and this one has far exceeded any expectations.

No compassion??

First I must tell you all that I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that go to this vet because it is convienent for me. I do also believe it is safe and I must say the price of Frontline as far as I can tell seems to be alot cheaper than most places. My problem is that I have a friend who hit a cat and they were not willing to help. (Put her on a payment plan etc. to get this cat better.) I just think that is wrong and inhumane. Also I work for a rescue and asked them if they would mind me having donated animal supplies left there as a drop off site. Letting them know I would be there daily if needed to pick up such donations. They declinded. Just seems that there should be more compassion when working w/ animals is your career. Just my food for thought.

Crossroads Animal Hospital

For 10 years I have been taking my beloved dogs to Crossroads Animal Hospital. They continue to be a very caring and sensitive staff and most compasionate for one's pets and their problems. Because they are a hospital they have many more resources available and can offer more than a regular vet's office, they have been a very good choice for our pets and their needs.
