What a joke. New owner, not the lake paradise of old. We called to make reservations for 4th of July weekend, first thing out of his mouth was you have to pay now. ( in broken English) We had friends that had reservations there so I gave CC info and then began to ask questions about what kind of cabin I just paid for. Was told, Quote, " you have bed, you have toilet and ac". we felt rushed, like we were bothering this man to make a reservation. Being from the area we drove out to the "resort" the next day to look around and talk to someone, to just ask questions. The office was closed, it was 2:30 pm, sign on door said office hours 8 to 5 yet no one available. We drove around " resort" . It appeared most campers or trailers that were there ,lived there. The "lakes" are all small green water dirty ponds. Restaurant was closed, no one at guard shack, no help. Next afternoon called once again, spoke to same man as before, again felt rushed and bothersome. I explained we had reservations and would like to know what our cabin number was so we might look it up on park map to give us idea were we would be located. I was told he would have to call me back. I then asked about swimming or using floats or rafts in ponds. He replied absolutely not, too many snakes and turtles in lakes. I asked about fishing. He replied only fishing during office hours. (8 to 5) I asked why. He said, Quote " you don't like my rules, don't come here". I replied I am simply trying to get information, that the website is very misleading. It says 4th of July extravaganza fireworks. Band at pavilion, swimming, boating fishing ect... He went on to say no fireworks are allowed because of Ins., and then was told a second time He would rather just refund my money, we would not be welcome there....DO NOT BELIEVE WEBSITE PHOTOS OR LIST OF AMENITIES. AGAIN I LIVE IN THE AREA IT USED TO BE A NEAT PLACE TO GO. NEW NAME SHOULD BE 5 DIRTY PONDS AND A POOL. GOOD LUCK.
