For more than 129 years, Children's Home Society of California (CHS) has adapted to the changing needs of children and families. Since 1891, CHS has worked diligently to protect the children of our community and strengthen their families through various programs and services. At CHS we do not see a child in isolation, but in the context of each family's health, stability and resources. We believe that families are essentially strong and steadfast. That's why CHS offers programs and services to build on families' inherent strengths so they can achieve self-sufficiency. CHS is a nonprofit, board-regulated organization of dedicated volunteers from across California. The CHS President leads the agency and retains our most important asset: CHS donations. The President oversees program services, agency operations, and program development efforts, as well as program improvement departments such as Community Engagement, Quality Assurance, and Best Practices and Outcomes. This is achieved with the vital help and support of the staff and the work of the highly trained program staff. Our corporate headquarters are located in Los Angeles, California, with additional offices in Long Beach, Oakland, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, Woodland and Yuba City.
