Awesome for a night out with friends or to just have a drink after a long day

not good at all...new chef might help

Gaslamp used to be my favorite place to go on Fridays... until one of the bouncers got "Gotti" on me. My BF made reservations for a table and I had all my friends and co-workers meet us at the time of the reservation. When I got there, another name on paper was taped to the tables. I thought surely this must be a mistake because we had confirmed reservations for this date and time. I thought maybe my BF made reservations under this name, maybe? Well, it turned out the owner got the dates mixed up for Sunday instead of Friday. The bouncer came to me and asked me why are we sitting at his friend's table, in front of all my friends, mind you... and I told him that we made reservations. I gave him the owner's name and he then accused me of lying and said that I was name dropping... like as if I was pretending know the owner (which I didn't... my BF did) I was so hummiliated! The owner confirmed her accquainance with us to the bouncer... but did you think he apologized? No, it got worse. The owner graciously put together tables for us in the back... which made the sting and embarrassment ease up a little... All my friends felt really bad and bought me martinis... but then, the bouncer came back and had the nerve to tell me, "You're lucky you got these tables." By this time, I had two martinis in me and told him off. I told the owner, who is very nice, that because of his behavior we're never coming back. And we went to Gaslamp like almost every Friday and brought so much people with us... I was really sad that I had lost such a good 80s joint all because of this dumb bouncer. And he's still there to this day!

Drinks, music are awsome.

They have a live band on Fridays, and on Saturdays they have a DJ playing top 40's!

There is no need to dress to impress, you can wear flip flops and be fine, but there is those Like myself that like to dress to impress regardless.

this place is no meat market! people are just here to drink and enjoy.

trust me you will love this place as much as i do!!
