Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is a public museum. The adobe home has a rich history of Spanish, Mexican and American California style. Built in 1844 it portrays the California ranching beginnings to a modern, urban society. Also includes historic gardns and a research library.

- Once on Long Beach Blvd., turn west at San Antonio Drive. When you reach the first stop sign, turn right: this is Virigina Road. You will pass private homes, a golf course and the driveway into the Virginia Country Club before reaching the Rancho entrance.

- Gift shop is in our Visitor Center, offers wide array of books on California history, children's toys, Victorian-themed gifts, and products including jams and seed packets. There is a California History Research Library which contains 3,000 volume of books. Special programs in May, the Spring Festival, in August the Mud Mania, week-long summer programs for elementary-aged children, and tours for scout/youth groups on weekday afternoons during the school year.
