Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site is a public museum. The adobe home has a rich history of Spanish, Mexican and American California style. Built in 1844 it portrays the California ranching beginnings to a modern, urban society. Also includes historic gardns and a research library.

Once on Long Beach Blvd., turn west at San Antonio Drive. When you reach the first stop sign, turn right: this is Virigina Road. You will pass private homes, a golf course and the driveway into the Virginia Country Club before reaching the Rancho entrance.

Gift shop is in our Visitor Center, offers wide array of books on California history, children's toys, Victorian-themed gifts, and products including jams and seed packets. There is a California History Research Library which contains 3,000 volume of books. Special programs in May, the Spring Festival, in August the Mud Mania, week-long summer programs for elementary-aged children, and tours for scout/youth groups on weekday afternoons during the school year.
