I usually drive from long beach to Uncle Darrow's Creole Eatry for Gumbo, but I was desperate and gooled Sal's. When ordering I ask what was in the gumbo, she said chicken, crab legs, and beef. I ask for extra file and she squad it was cooked in the gumbo. When I pick up the order I notice that the gumbo look water and oily. Usually gumbo is hearty at least all the ones I have eaten. Once I got home I transferred it from the container into a boil using a strainer because I did not want to eat a boil full of oil. This revealed the amount of food that was hidden under all the oil they called file. It was literally 1/2 cup of food particles in the 16oz container that was mostly oil. I paid 8$ this was a rip off. Please if you ever want some real soulful gumbo go to UNCLE DARROW'S CAJUN CREOLE EATERY

Love the Food At Sal's Gumbo Shack! You got to try this place if you love southern food.
