Like all great affairs, Mike's love of kiting was born first of frustration (blown out surf), then lust (how high can I go), then pain (shattered ankle) and finally a Cosmic Bliss (I found my calling). And like all great ideas, Cosmic Kites started in a garage in January of 2004.  Cosmic, like the sport, grew very quickly but Mike stayed focussed on one thing and one thing only:  The Satisfied Customer.  Since those early days Cosmic has grown to include shops and schools around the US and the Caribbean. Cosmic Chris came on board and set up shop in Cabarete, DR where Cosmic is now partnered with Kite Club one of the largest Kiteboarding Schools and network of schools in the world where people from all ages and locals come for everything from their first trainer kite lesson to IKO Level 2 Instructors Certification.  Cosmic is also intent on bringing the stoke of Kiteboarding to the US Mainland through its professional sponsorship program where Cosmic provides all the support young talented riders like Alex Soto, Robinson Hilario and Maika Buckley need to navigate there way from that first handle pass to that first podium. Cosmic also work's hard for our community assisting in protecting and opening kite locations, supporting events like Kiteboarding for Kids, developing and implementing new ideas for kite safety, professional training at all levels, and focusing on long term growth and acceptance of the sport so it can take it's rightful place on beaches here in NY and around the world.
