Graduate of New York Chiropractic College 1982, Board Certification in Sports Injuries 1985, Certification in Medx rehabilitation by the University of Florida, school of Medicine 1991. Dr. Ira Grushack always knew that he wanted to be in a health-related field helping others, but it wasn't until his own back injury that he discovered Chiropractic. At age 18, Dr. Grushack did some heavy lifting and severely injured his back. After visiting the MD, he was put on pain killers, received PT, and by the end of a month needed a cane to walk. The next step was hospitalization. Luckily, someone suggested Chiropractic and after one adjustment, it was like he had experienced a miracle. Dr. Grushack continued to visit the Chiropractor until he felt like his old self. After such a positive experience, his career decision was made! Dr. Grushack's path took him into sports physiology, rehab exercises, band exercises and applied kinesiology. He has been an avid exerciser and consultant at Long Beach health clubs. Dr. Grushack lectures on health, well-being, nutrition, stress reduction, and sports injuries recovery. He often mentors interns and has a long history of community service in Long Beach, Island Park, Point Lookout and surrounding areas in religious organizations, chamber of commerce, Masons and Long Beach Library Board of Directors. When not helping others, you can also find Dr. Grushack sailing.
