Provided by YP.comAfter reading all of the great reviews on the web, we decided to give John Henry’s a try. It was a Sunday afternoon, just after twelve. The place was virtually empty. This should have been the first indication of what we were getting our selves into. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good, your typical neighborhood pub. The menu has a lot of options and most of them sound very appetizing. We had dinner plans for the evening so we decided to keep it simple. Couple of burgers, a grilled chicken sandwich and some poppers. The only thing good about the meal was the fries that were served with the sandwiches and the poppers. Both of which are pretty difficult to screw up. The burgers, although they were requested to be cooked to medium were served raw in the middle. And when I say raw, I mean completely uncooked. The bottom half of the roll was basically a sponge to hold the blood. Requested that they be cooked further and they were returned a minute later in basically the same condition. Requested that they be cooked further again. This time they were returned to the table-the burgers were well done, roll was actually burnt on the outside. The worst part about this was the waitresses condescending attitude and the lecture that we had to endure about what constitutes a medium cooked burger.
The service was bad, drinks were flat, food was terrible. It’s a wonder this place is still in business. They are a perfect candidate for “kitchen Nightmares”. We will never go back again and will make sure our friends are informed of our experience.
