Took my 2 puppies in for second round of shots, three days later they were puking and barely would move needed to be forced water to prevent dehydration for almost 24 hours. When they started puking called vet when they opened and told them were sick from shots, person on phone said that was impossible since it was 3 days later and told me to take them to Aspen meadows the $2000/ day emergency clinic since they were too busy to see them. I told them there were countless similar occurrences online of puppies getting the same symptoms and dying starting 3 days after getting shots but they told me I was wrong, I said I read if puppies were sick from shots they could be given benadryl to prevent them from dying, phone person agreed and asked if I wanted to transferred to vet tech to know dosage. I said I already got the information online and they hung up.

The vet gave them parvo/distemper and lepto without evening mentioning side effects, probably so they can milk you for money when the sogs get sick
..turns out the leptospirosis shots most likely gave the puppies a bacterial infection and most vets won't even touch this vaccine, only desperate money minded clinics trying to nickel and dime you. My puppies got better after about 2 days but still have diarrhea 3 weeks later and I also have caught the bacteria infection from them...

It's pathetic this vet gave shots that almost killed my dogs and didn't even care enough to see them when they almost died, very pathetic after I spent almost $500 for $100 worth of shots. I would avoid this place like the plague and won't be surprised when horrible things happen or it gets shut down very soon...becareful and don't let this "vet" kill your puppy with their deadly vaccines.

Kennel Care

Kennel changed last few years after being reliable. Quality of care, injuries, lack of responsibility for feeding etc. Something must have happened here.

Debra Davison is a horrible vet. Do not let this woman treat your pets. She almost killed mine by rushing into a diagnosis which was incorrect. We took our dog in as he had been sick (vomiting, no appetite, lethargic, etc) for a few weeks. The hospital took four x-rays – none of which showed anything unusual or abnormal. However, Davison became convinced, despite no actual proof, that my dog had some type of obstruction in the stomach or intestines. Instead of taking time to run all appropriate tests and consider all options, she practically forced us into a $3500 exploratory surgery. I even asked her if there were any other options or tests we could do before surgery and the only things she came up with was either an ultrasound or a barium contrast x-ray – both costing over $500 and according to her, not very reliable. No once did it ever occur to her to mention a quick, painless, and inexpensive blood panel. Only by sheer luck did she run a blood test before starting the surgery, then informed me, "It’s a good thing I did the blood panel first, if I would have put him under anesthesia, he probably would have died." She admitted to my face that she almost killed him out of negligence and impatience, and made it sound like she was some sort of hero for saving his life. Even if he had survived, it would have cost us the $3500, plus he would have still been sick! I don’t trust this woman, her judgment, or her ability to safely practice pet medicine. Beware!

Side note, all the other vets we have seen are much, much better.

It seems that yp has a lot of outdated information in these reviews. There is no Dr. Davison at this practice (at least not anymore).

My experience here in 2017 was top notch! I dealt with 2 different veterinarians over three visits when my dog just wasn't acting like himself - and one of these visits was a Sunday, which is very convenient.

The staff was all on the same page about Bandit's status over my multiple visits and they took great care of him. Even the front desk people knew who he was each time we walked in the door!

I didn't feel pressured into spending a lot of money. There were multiple tests recommended and I chose one that fit the best into my budget.

I can't say enough good things about this hospital. I'm so glad that I found them!!!

Amazing! Dr.Debra Davison is so easy to talk to. She is very knowledgeable ...accurate....compassionate...honest..great follow ups via phone. Our pets deserved the best and that's what they received with Dr.Davison. Dr. Davison also made sure that our appts. were necessary. As the end grew near for 3 of our pets (over the years) Dr. Davison spent oddles of time listening to our concerns....she is a modern day Angel to us....and we are forever blessed having known her.

I'm unimpressed.

I arrived at 3:10 (for my 3:15 appointment), filled out the paperwork, and was shown into the examination room at 3:15. At 3:35, I overheard a customer come in with a rattlesnake bite. At 3:40, I went out to the waiting room and asked when the vet would be in to see me. They explained it would be a while longer because of the rattlesnake bite.

I would expect a little more professionalism:

1) If I have a 3:15 appointment, I don't expect to have to wait more than 10 minutes to see the vet. I waited 20 minutes before the rattlesnake bite came in.

2) If there's going to be a delay (such as the rattlesnake bite), I expect the staff to let me know.

I'm asking for a little communication, not a change in the practice. This is something I expect from any professional practice. I will go back to my other vet (Valley Vet South).

Not like it use to be

This animal hospital has gone up in price and down in quality. Way down in quality. I use to drive 25 miles to go to the old vets but I am now looking for a new vet.

Avoid This Vet if You Love Your Animals!

We have used Longs Peak Vet and were happy with the care, service and prices for five years. The clinic was recently sold to another veterinarian and has since gone down hill in the quality of care with a marked increase in prices. No instructions for a post operative dog, mis-diagnosis, incomplete labeling of medication and a very condescending attitude by the vet owner are a few of the issues we had. The breaking point came when our dog had a lump surgically removed from her leg (turning out not to be cancer) but the incision was poorly closed (botched staples) and the leg became infected. We had to take her back in a second time and put under to have the sutures properly done. The vet admitted to the poor suture job but charged us for the second surgical procedure! Please do yourself a favor and avoid this vet. Your animals and bank account will thank you.

Wonderful people!

We have been going here for years because they give great service and treat us and our pets great. They are open 7 days a week and we can always get an appointment right away. The doctors are wonderful and even treat our grumpy black cat with care. I would highly reccomend them for your vet. needs.
