I live out of the Longview area, so my children saw a dentist in my area for a number of years. They absolutely hated going to the dentist. My daughter had a traumatic experience with that dentist, so I tried to take her to another dentist in my area. She was terrified and shook and would not let the dentist even get near her. He then referred me to Mrs. McGough. The first time my daughter didn't do too well, but the staff at McGough & McGough were patient and Excellent with her. I took my son as well, and they treated him just as well. The next time I had to take either of the children was way easier. After the second time, my daughter WANTS to go to the dentist. The staff at McGough's is patient and make you feel like they truly care, and they do their best pain-management wise to make sure that the child is as comfortable as possible. In other words, they cater to those who are afraid. They also have a great, kid-friendly waiting room, with video games to keep the child entertained so they are not dreading the wait to go in. They have a TV room so that when the medicine starts to take effect, the child can go lay in there and watch tv. The front desk staff is also very organized and courteous,and does their best to get you in as soon as possible. It is an hour and a half drive for me, and worth every mile. I won't take my children any where else in the future.
